Two thousand years ago, according to the gospel of John, the scribes and Pharisees brought before Jesus a woman they had caught in adultery. As we read the account, we immediately note that something is amiss. Where is the man, the second part of the adulterous act? He is nowhere to be found.
The law states that in the act of adultery both the woman and the man are to be punished, which prompts the reader to realize that the scribes and Pharisees were less interested in the actual law than in punishing only the woman. Justice was not part of the equation.
The woman was brought before Jesus to test him. Had the Lord shown compassion and suggested the woman not be executed, He would be accused of interfering with the law; if He said the woman should be punished, according to the law, his followers would have felt he lacked compassion. Jesus truly faced a predicament in this situation.
Like the account in John's gospel, President Donald Trump is being tested, and if he submits to fake questions or an interview with the Robert Mueller Witch Hunt, he will be facing a no-win situation.
Please, Mr. President, keep the course and ignore the back-stabbing liberal Democrats, who would rather see the nation fail than for you to continue to succeed.
