Naval Hospital (NH) Jacksonville (its hospital and five branch health clinics) is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation's premiere accrediting body for hospitals across the country. The Joint Commission conducts periodic surveys of hospitals nationwide to evaluate compliance with standards. The Joint Commission and Navy Medical Inspector General will survey NH Jacksonville from Dec. 5 to 9.
The on-site survey focuses on continuous operational improvement in support of safe, high-quality care, treatment and services. The survey process is data-driven, patient-centered, and focuses on evaluating actual care processes. Surveyors evaluate the organization, while also providing education and "good practice" guidance to help staff continually improve the organization's performance.
For concerns about patient safety or quality of care, NH Jacksonville encourages hospital and branch health clinic patients to speak with the departmental Customer Relations representative, contact Patient/Customer Relations (stop by, phone 904-542-9175, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org), submit an ICE comment (using one of the electronic kiosks located throughout the facility), click on the ICE icon on the command's website at www.med.navy.mil/sites/navalhospitaljax, or call the CO's Care Line at 904-542-2273.
Individuals can also contact The Joint Commission by mail at The Joint Commission, One Renaissance Boulevard, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois 60181; by email at email@example.com; by fax at 630-792-5636; or on the web at www.jointcommission.org.
To speak with a member of the Navy Medical Inspector General team, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 571-481-1735 to schedule an appointment Dec. 5 to 7.
Concerns may be submitted anonymously, but providing a name and contact information makes it possible for The Joint Commission or Navy Medical Inspector General staff to follow-up if more information is needed, and to inform individuals of actions being taken at one of its facilities.
