HS-5 'Nightdippers' entertain media at sea
|
||
Occasionally, outside media sources have the opportunity to spend time aboard the carrier with the squadron to learn more about the immense at-sea capabilities and requirements of HS-5.
Recently, some of the Sailors from the Nightdippers of HS-5 had the opportunity to meet and discuss squadron life with two different film crews currently working aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.
The Nightdippers presently find themselves aboard the carrier participating in the Joint Task Force Exercise. The questions asked of the various Nightdipper' Sailors ranged from simple living condition queries to questions regarding the in-depth technical abilities of the SH-60F and HH-60H helicopters aboard the USS Eisenhower.
Currently, one of the crews filming aboard the Eisenhower is from the Discovery Channel, while the second crew is creating a documentary for National Geographic.
The interface with the various journalists give the HS-5 Sailors a chance to display their knowledge and expertise, with the added benefit of often gaining some notoriety back at home.
