Stacey comes home to NAS Jacksonville

During a special ceremony at the St. Johns Town Center, Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton issued a proclamation officially proclaiming May 14 as "Phil Stacey Day."
"It's a pretty big deal to have a day designated just for me. It underlines all the unwavering support that I have received from Jacksonville and it is quite an honor," noted Stacey.
Stacey then returned to work, joining his fellow shipmates at NAS Jax. Stepping out of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood life has brought no disruption to him or his family.
"It feels great to be home with my family in our own house. Coming back is going to give me a chance to put some normalcy back to my family's life," said Stacey. "It's really no different to me. It's weird because you are a celebrity with American Idol, but not really. People have watched my family and I grow. They saw our daughter, McKayla come into the world and now she is seven months old. People react differently toward me than they do towards a famous movie star or musician. It's almost a deeper level of commitment between my fans and I so it wasn't hard to come back to this life. I really missed it and I'm so glad to be home in Jacksonville."
