NMCRS Jax honors volunteers for contributions
The event was hosted by Commander, Navy Region Southeast Rear Adm. Michael Vitale and his wife, Debbie, who also presented the awards during the ceremony.
After lunch, NMCRS Co-Chairman of Volunteers Jennifer Flagge gave a short presentation about what it means to be a volunteer at the society. She used the letters in the word, "VOLUNTEER" to come up with a variety of adjectives to describe a volunteer's traits. Her descriptions brought rounds of laughter and applause from her fellow volunteers.
"We are so very appreciative of all our volunteers and everything they do to help the military families here," said Flagge.
"This is also Volunteer Appreciation Week, so we think it's so appropriate that we can all be together this week," added NMCRS Co-Chairman of Volunteers Ebru Pekari, who also read a letter from
Commander, Navy Region Southeast, Rear Adm. Michael Vitale presents NAS Jax Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society Director Dave Faraldo with a certificate of appreciation from NMCRS Headquarters for his dedication to the society for the past 15 years during the annual NMCRS Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon April 29.
NAS Jax Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) Chairperson of Reception Lisa Martinez happily accepts the NMCRS Superior Service Award from NMCRS Director Dave Faraldo. Martinez has volunteered more than 1,000 hours with the society.

NAS Jax Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) Volunteer Ruth Baty accepts a Meritorious Service Award from NMCRS Director Dave Faraldo for her devotion to the society. Baty has volunteered more than 600 hours of her time to help military families in need.
