I agree with Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. The Kavanaugh hearings were a sham.
The idea that the presumption of innocence until proven guilty applies to a criminal court case, not a panel job interview. I have interviewed hundreds of candidates over my 39-year career: one-on-one interviews, group interviews and panel interviews. Never would I move forward with a candidate who displayed Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s temperament and composure.
His lack of ability/desire to answer the questions posed to him deemed him untrustworthy. His volatile and combative demeanor to the interviewers should have disqualified him from further consideration. His divisive rhetoric demonstrated his inability to work with others.
The panel, with 100 percent certainty, should have moved on to another candidate. Certainly, there are other equally qualified candidates who could have interviewed better for the position.
Nowhere in America would a job candidate be hired after an interview like the one we witnessed; only in today’s political arena and for the highest judiciary position in the country, nonetheless.
America hired a clown. We got a circus.
