From Personnel Support Detachment Jacksonville
The Navy Pay and Personnel Support Center (NPPSC), located at the Bureau of Naval Personnel, has established a monthly Heat Chart, which measures timeliness and accuracy for 17 core pay and personnel metric areas, for 43 Personnel Support Detachments (PSDs) Navy-wide.
PSD Jacksonville is proud to have earned the No. 1 ranking for metric efficiencies worldwide. The award comes with a "NPPSC Top Gun Flag" that is mailed to each PSD from the NPPSC commanding officer.
Key to the team's success is the support received from command pay and personnel administrators (CPPAs), who are the main points of contact for their command Sailors.
These administrators interface daily with the PSD staff. They process countless pay and personnel transactions, in support the warfighter, family members, and civil service and contractor personnel on station.
It's a collaborative effort that takes place daily between CPPAs and PSD employees.
PSD Jax's mission includes direct support to more than 15,000 customers, 285 commands.
The team supports 9,600 Sailors at NAS Jax commands and more than 5,500 Sailors located south of Jacksonville, including 16 squadrons, U.S. Southern Command, U.S. Central Command, Naval Air Station Key West, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
Annually, the team processes more than 130,000 pay and personnel transactions, issues over 30,000 ID Cards, liquidate more than 28,000 travel claims, more than 3,207 passports and visas, issues more than192,000 SATO travel tickets, processes over 3,000 transient Sailors, and administers more than 7,300 Navy advancement examinations for active and Reserve Sailors.
