Commander, Navy Region Southeast (CNRSE) announced during an all hands meeting that Elinor Johnson is the the staff's Junior Civilian of the Year for 2016.
Johnson is the regional marketing and sponsorship manager for Navy Region Southeast's morale, welfare and recreation department. During the past year, she vastly improved the sponsorship program for Navy Region Southeast by creating a selling tool that assisted in the execution of more than $1 million in commercial sponsorships and $240,000 in advertising revenue. She also completed a huge Navy Gateways, Inns & Suites project, creating desk guides that will make future formatting and production of this guide extremely efficient.
"Our department is very excited for Elinor to be selected for this most deserved award," said Amy Cimino-Shockley, CNRSE MWR program manager. "She contributes daily to support the installations through marketing efforts, and she contributes to the bottom line by selling advertising and sponsorship packages across the region. She is truly a team player that each installation reaches out to for guidance and assistance, and her work is of the highest quality."
Johnson said being recognized as junior civilian of the year was an honor.
"I really appreciate the award, and I'm very grateful for the recognition" said Johnson.
"I truly love what I do and all the people I work with. My husband is retired military, and I know first-hand how important all of the Fleet and Family Readiness Programs are to our military families. I'm very proud to be part of the Navy Region Southeast team."
Individual selection criteria for the awards was based upon exemplary performance of tasks, contributions that enhanced organization accomplishment of command objectives, mission, teamwork or public image, and one's professional attitude toward self and others.
