IAs awarded Bronze Star, Army Commendation medals

It's not every day a Bronze Star medal and two Army Commendation medals are presented during a command's monthly quarters but on Nov. 26, CPRW-11 Commanding Officer Capt. Kyle Cozad had the distinguished honor of presenting these medals to Lt. Gregory Harkrider, OS1Victor Pope and IT1 Michael Dees. All three recently returned from Individual Augmentee (IA) assignments in Iraq and Afghanistan where they earned their awards. [ More ]

'War Eagles,' 'Black Tips' homecoming
The first combat aircrews of VP-16 "War Eagles" and maintainers of Consolidated Maintenance Organization Eleven (CMO-11) "Black Tips" Maintenance Detachment Team B (MDT-B) returned Dec. 1 to an emotional reunion with family and friends at NAS Jacksonville.

Mordhorst to relieve Lenox at HS-7 Friday
Cmdr. Sean Mordhorst will relieve Cmdr. Kevin Lenox as commanding officer of the HS-7 "Dusty Dogs" Dec.12 in Hangar 116 at NAS Jacksonville. Commander, Carrier Air Wing 3 (CVW-3), Capt. Andrew Lewis is the keynote speaker.

CNATTU Jacksonville hosts Armed Services Blood Drive
An Armed Services Blood Program (ASMP) team from the Eisenhower Army Medical Center of Fort Gordon, Ga. traveled to CNATTU Jacksonville Dec. 3 to conduct a blood drive. The ASMP team also visited Fleet Readiness Center Southeast and NS Mayport during their three-day visit.

NAS Jax families enjoy tree lighting festivities
Even some light rain and cool temperatures didn't dampen the spirits of hundreds of active duty members, their families and friends as they came out to enjoy the 14th annual Christmas tree lighting event at Patriot's Grove Friday night.
