The Giving Tree tradition starts at NAS Jax
The NAS Jacksonville Navy Exchange (NEX) began a new Christmas tradition this year with the "Giving Tree."

New career program for military spouses being offered at NAS Jax
NAS Jacksonville has been chosen as a test site to initiate a new training program to benefit military spouses. NAS Jacksonville Commanding Officer Capt. Jack Scorby Jr. was on hand to help launch this new program, called the Military Spouse Career Advancement Initiative at a Pentagon Press Event last week. During the launching ceremony, valuable information was provided about the new program for military spouses.

St. Augustine rolls out the red carpet for military and families
The USO and city of St. Augustine will honor members of the military and their families with free admission to attractions, trolley rides, parking and lunch during the 50th annual Pal day Saturday.

Youth Activities Center hosts Military Family Appreciation Carnival
Hundreds of military families enjoyed the annual NAS Jacksonville Military Family Appreciation Carnival Saturday at the Navy Exchange parking lot. As the children enjoyed the large inflatable bouncy houses, soccer game and a giant rock-climbing wall, parents stood nearby happily watching the kids have fun. Some were even brave enough to try out the rock climbing wall themselves.
