HS-11 completes 2006 summer deployment
The ''Dragonslayers'' of HS-11 returned home Friday and Saturday after a six-month deployment on board USS Enterprise (CVN 65). The squadron headed to sea May 2 after several months of training detachments to prepare crew members for a myriad of missions.

Great American Smokeout saves lives
The Naval Hospital Jacksonville Wellness Center conducted outreach during the Great American Smokeout this year at the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) Jax, HS-7 and Naval Hospi-tal Jacksonville Nov. 15-17. The official Great American Smokeout day is Nov. 16, but this year it was extended into a three-day event to get the word out on prevention and cessation to our Sailors, Marines, family members and retirees.

YAC hosts Military Family Appreciation Carnival
The annual NAS Jack-sonville Military Family Appreciation Carnival proved extremely successful Saturday as hundreds of military family members stopped by to enjoy the entertainment, large inflatable rides, arts and crafts, free popcorn and lots of give-a-ways.

A holiday wish from Jax, the old fire engine
The old fire chief hobbled down the stairs as he had done 10,000 times. It was almost midnight and the firehouse was quiet, the lights were down and it was that special time.
