Sports Day Challenge
The NAS Jax Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department (MWR) hosted the base's second Sports Day Challenge Sept. 27-28 bringing out record numbers of personnel to compete in some friendly competition. More than 350 Sailors came out from eight different commands to proudly represent and show their spirit.

Sailors, civilians pedal to the shore to benefit MS Society
Approximately 2,200 cyclists gathered together in the wee hours of the morning Saturday at the St. Augustine Airport on U.S. Highway 1 in St. Johns County to participate in the 21st annual MS 150 Cycle to the Shore Bike Tour to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. Within this group were 22 members of Team Navy Jax, an assembly of cycling enthusiasts from NAS Jax. This is the third year the Navy team has participated in the event. This year, they battled heavy rain and head winds in excess of 30 miles per hour.

Nurse Midwives from Naval Hospital Jacksonville wish to educate patients and the public about nurse-midwifery as part of Midwifery Week Oct. 7-13.
