[ More ] NAS Jacksonville is the first command to earn the Department of the Navy's Safety Excellence Award for a second time in the ashore non-industrial category. NAS Jacksonville celebrated the 37th anniversary of the Navy Family Ombudsman Program with a special luncheon to honor 51 NAS Jax and tenant command ombudsmen Sept. 20 at the NAS Jax Officers' Club. Southeast Region holds ombudsmen conference More than 105 Navy family ombudsmen and their command leaders met for two days of instruction and fellowship at the Clarion Airport Hotel Conference Center Jacksonville Sept. 18-19. Sniff it out When people refer to the Armed Forces, images of four-footed, long-haired, nonhuman counterparts don't typically come to mind.
