Navy Reserve Readiness Command Southeast hosts chief's conference
More than 20 command chiefs from Navy Operational Support Centers (NOSC) throughout the Southeast and South regions gathered here for the Navy Reserve Readiness Command (REDCOM) Southeast Senior Enlisted Leader Symposium Aug. 23.

CPO selectees give back to the community
Several NAS Jax chief selectees rolled up their sleeves Aug. 19 to lend a helping hand to HabiJax by working on some new homes for Jacksonville residents. ''It's an incredible feeling to be involved with this project, we are literally putting a roof over someone's head,'' said HM1 Jonathon Wells of the Disease Vector Ecology and Control Center.

Depot mechanic wins Artisan of the Quarter
Mike Gribble, an aircraft pneudraulic systems mechanic at the Naval Air (NAVAIR) Depot, Jacksonville recently was awarded the Artisan of the Quarter Award for the Third Quarter, Fiscal Year 2006 in the Industrial Components Repair and Modification Division.

Commands battle it out for Sports Day Challenge title
The NAS Jax Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department (MWR) hosted the base's first Sports Day Challenge Aug. 24-25 bringing out record numbers of personnel to compete in some friendly competition. More than 150 Sailors came out from 14 different commands to proudly represent and show their spirit.
