Capt. Speicher returns home

As the aircraft bearing the remains of Navy Capt. Michael Scott Speicher touched down at NAS Jacksonville Aug. 13, hundreds of military and civilian personnel paid their respect by lining the streets leading to the base's All Saints Chapel - where Speicher's casket laid in repose from 4 p.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday. Cmdr. Eric McCartney relieves Cmdr. Patrick Mueller as commanding officer of Navy Computer and Telecommunications Station (NAVCOMTELSTA) Jax during a change of command ceremony tomorrow at the NAS Jacksonville Officers' Club. The guest speaker will be Capt. John Chandler, commanding officer, Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic. Also in attendance will be NAS Jacksonville Commanding Officer Capt. Jack Scorby Jr.

Hornet pilot leads FRCSE to new heights
As of October, it will be three years since the Navy's six Fleet Readiness Centers stood up as a result of BRAC 2005. With a depot-level workforce of more than 3,000 civilian artisans, 1,000 Sailors and 600 contractors, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) supports warfighters through a continuous process improvement program that reduces cycle times and improves scheduling for on-time, on-budget deliveries.

The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Jacksonville (FISCJ) provides logistics, business and support services to fleet, shore and industrial commands of the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard - as well as other joint and allied forces as directed by the Commander, Fleet and Industrial Supply Centers, (COMFISCS).
