Gillingham relieves Bono as Naval Hospital Jax CO
Capt. Bruce Gilling-ham assumes command of Naval Hospital Jacksonville today, relieving Capt. Raquel Bono in a 10 a.m. ceremony at NAS Jacksonville All Saints Chapel. Deputy Surgeon General of the Navy Rear Adm. Thomas Cullison will be the guest speaker.

The HS-5 "Nightdippers" recently kicked off the work-up cycle for their upcoming deployment with the Helicopter Advanced Readiness Program (HARP) - six weeks of training that allows the squadron to benchmark its skill levels in each mission area they may be called upon to execute during deployment.

Navy Recruiting District (NRD) New England held an educator orientation visit July 30-31, at NAS Jacksonville, NS Mayport and NSB Kings Bay. The visit serves as a Navy awareness tool, ensuring that educators see first hand the training, equipment and facilities that Sailors operate with in today's Navy.

The NAS Jax Environmental Department hosted 69 Cub Scouts from the Great Muskogee District during a nature day camp at the Black Point Interpretive Center last week. The five-day camp allowed the scouts to participate in numerous events including nature-related activities, arts and crafts, woodworking and sporting events.
