NAS Jax XO to retire tomorrow
NAS Jax Executive Officer Capt. Chuck Tamblyn will retire after 25 years of distinguished naval service during a ceremony at Hangar 117 tomorrow. The guest speaker will be his good friend, retired Navy Cmdr. Frank Lorenz.

Medical troops return from Cuba
The waiting area in the NAS Jacksonville air terminal was buzzing with family members and well-wishers all anxiously awaiting the arrival of medical personnel returning from Cuba July 7.

NMSC school unveils memorial
The Naval School of Health Sciences (NSHS) in San Diego, a subordinate command of Navy Medicine Support Command (NMSC) headquartered in Jacksonville, unveiled the first-of-its-kind memorial June 15 to honor hospital corpsmen who have died in the line of duty since Sept. 11, 2001.
