CNATTU Jax instructor selected for the Blue Angels

AM1(AW) Vincent Stolp recently received word that one of his dreams will soon come true. He landed a spot as a crewmember for the U.S. Naval Flight Demonstration Squadron, the "Blue Angels." He will be joining the elite Navy and Marine Corps flight demonstration team headquartered at NAS Pensacola this November. [ More ]

NAS Brunswick Sailors learn about Jacksonville
CPRW-5 Commanding Officer Capt. Tyrone Payton and VP-8 Commanding Officer Cmdr. Eric Wiesz hosted an informational fair June 10 at NAS Brunswick, Maine for Sailors and their families who will be part of the homeport change to NAS Jacksonville beginning in the summer of 2009.

Navy Exchange welcomes Navy NASCAR team
NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Brad Keselowski will meet and greet race fans at the Navy Exchange (NEX) main store July 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. His most recent win was the Federated Auto Parts 300 at the Nashville Superspeedway on June 7.

His rotary-wing plank owner certificate is dated June 27, 1957 and is just one of the highlights in ATC Merle Webster's 24-year naval career that spanned from World War II to the Vietnam era.

NJROTC students 'learn the ropes' on the St. Johns River
Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) students from 55 high schools throughout Florida and Georgia gathered at NAS Jacksonville for some on-the-water training that taught them how to handle a variety of sailboats.
