Yorktown Avenue traffic cones going away
Starting June 29, traffic cones will no longer be placed on Yorktown Avenue during the morning and afternoon rush hours. Placement of cones on Yorktown began several years ago to help remind drivers of the lane configuration. Although they initially reduced afternoon accidents, they have also caused confusion as to what to follow - the lane control lights or the traffic cones. In some cases, this resulted in accidents and near misses.
'Dusty Dogs' deliver multi-mission support to Carrier Strike Group 10
The "Dusty Dogs" of HS-7 recently returned from a month of flight operations while embarked on USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). The squadron rehearsed nearly every mission in its repertoire to support Carrier Air Wing 3 during Tailored Ships Training Availability (TSTA) operations off the East coast.
Medal of Honor recipient administers oath
At his June 1 reenlistment ceremony, HMC(SW/EXW) David Hendricks of Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron (MSRON) 10 received the oath of enlistment from a former hospital corpsman who wears the Medal of Honor - America's highest decoration for heroism.
