Sailors join PGA Tour to honor The 41st U.S. president
More than 170 Sailors from NAS Jacksonville and NAS Mayport, led by Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast Capt. Douglas Morton, participated in a special ceremony honoring the 41st President of the United States, George H.W. Bush, who was named the ninth recipient of the PGA Tour's Lifetime Achievement Award May 6. The formation of Sailors flanked the fairway to the 18th green of The Players Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra, Fla.

"Click-it or Ticket" campaign begins May 18
The National "Click-it or Ticket" Campaign runs May 18 - June 1 during which law enforcement agencies across the country mobilize to increase awareness and promote safety belt usage. It's a fact that vehicle safety belts reduce the risk of serious bodily injury or death in motor vehicle crashes by 50 percent. This year we hope to improve the overall safety onboard NAS Jacksonville by encouraging more people to buckle up during the Click-it or Ticket campaign.

Commands battle it out at MWR Spring Sports Challenge
The NAS Jax Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department (MWR) hosted the 2009 Spring Sports Challenge May 7-8, bringing out hundreds of participants for some "friendly" competition.

NAS Jax Fire Prevention Division wins award
The Jacksonville Navy Metro Fire and Emergency Services NAS Jax Fire Prevention Division has earned the Fire Prevention Program of the Year award at the Commander, Navy Region Southeast level.
