Sailors of the Quarter honored at luncheon
More than 325 Sailors, family members and shipmates gathered for a special Sailor of the Quarter (SOQ) celebration April 14 at the NAS Jax Officers' Club.

HS-3 'Tridents' return home
The "Tridents" of Helicopter Squadron Three (HS-3), who aided in the capture and transport of 16 suspected pirates in the Gulf of Aden back in February, returned home to NAS Jacksonville April 16 after a deployment on board USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). HS-3 deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as a component of Carrier Air Wing Eight for seven and a half months flying more than 3,800 direct combat support flight hours.

NAS Jax Navy Exchange rolls out new Navy Working Uniform
The NAS Jacksonville Navy Exchange (NEX) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 14 to officially roll out the new Navy Working Uniform (NWU) and to open a new store to accommodate Sailors in acquiring needed items. The new store is located next to the convenience store in the NEX warehouse.

NAS JAX HOLDS ANNUAL MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD CARNIVAL
Laughter and excitement filled the air as hundreds of kids and their parents came out to enjoy the annual Month of the Military Child Carnival Saturday in the Navy Exchange parking lot. The free event is put on each year by the NAS Jax Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department's Youth Activities Center (YAC) to show military children how much they are appreciated.

Seaman to Admiral
Three Naval Hospital Jacksonville enlisted hospital corpsmen are putting their Navy adventure on the fast track through the Seaman to Admiral (STA- 21) program.
