CNIC prepares for upcoming hurricane season
Hurricane season is once again approaching and the need for accountability and safety of personnel is a Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) top priority. CNIC has joined together with Commander, Fleet Forces Command (CFFC) in Norfolk, Va. to participate in Hurricane Exercise 07 (HURREX 07).

Jax Air News wins second place in Navy media competition
NAS Jacksonville's weekly newspaper, the Jax Air News, has placed second in the Metro Category (civilian enterprise) of the Chief of Naval Information (CHINFO) Merit Awards. Assistant Editor MC1(AW/SW) Heather Ewton was also given an honorable mention for her feature article submission about retired Navy Cmdr. Dusty Rhodes, a former Blue Angel's commanding officer.

Bobbin' for bucketmouth
At the crack of dawn Saturday under sunny skies, 120 anglers headed to the Mulberry Cove Marina to participate in the 25th annual NAS Jax Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Bass Tournament. The event was open to all active duty members, reservists, retirees and Department of Defense civilians. Teams consisted of two members per boat and they fished from first light at 6:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Naval Hospital Jax members participate in walk
Several members of Naval Hospital Jacksonville's Family Medicine Clinic participated in this year's Multiple Sclerosis Walk in downtown Jacksonville March 31. The annual event raises money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - North Florida Chapter.
