New MPR schoolhouse for advanced weapons training

Family moves into first of new homes at NAS Jax
AWVAN Tyler and AE3 Danielle Simon-sen, along with their son, Ryan, received keys to their new townhome during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at NAS Jacksonville family housing March 30.

NAS Jacksonville lauded for environmental achievement
Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton presented NAS Jacksonville Commanding Officer Capt. Jack Scorby Jr. with the Environmental Achievement Award for Government at the Mayor's Environmental Luncheon April 3 in downtown Jacksonville.

Scorby signs child abuse prevention proclamation
NAS Jax Commanding Officer Capt. Jack Scorby Jr. signed the Child Abuse Prevention Proclamation April 1 at the Fleet and Family Support Center, designating April as Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month aboard NAS Jacksonville.

Fourth Annual Captain Chuck Cornett Navy Run
More than 400 service members, retirees, civilians and family members turned out for the Captain Chuck Cornett 10K Run and 5K Walk Saturday at NAS Jacksonville. In addition to the 10-kilometer competitive run and five-kilometer walk, there was a large runners' shoe fair in the Navy Exchange (NEX) parking lot.
