Local Sailors compete in Military Nationals Powerlifting Championships
NAS Jax Kennel Supervisor MA1 Torey Taylor and ET2(SW) Donovan Davis of Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility Jax competed in the Military Nationals Powerlifting Championships March 7-8 at NAS Pensacola, Fla. Although the Navy doesn't have an official powerlifting team like the other branches of service, Navy members can compete as individuals in the different categories.
Annual NMCRS fund drive kicks off
This year's Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) Fund Drive began March 17 with an organizational kickoff at the NAS Jacksonville Officers' Club.
Nearly three tons of junk picked up from riverfront
Nearly 125 volunteers turned out for the annual NAS Jacksonville Shoreline Cleanup March 20 at the Mulberry Cove Marina. Volunteers from the various NAS Jax tenant commands spent their morning scouring the shoreline on foot and in canoes picking up more than 6,000 pounds of trash and debris.
