HS-5 crew rescues civilian diver off of east coast of Florida
HS-5 departed Norfolk. Va. in early March on board USS Theodore Roosevelt in support of fleet carrier qualifications and training wing carrier qualifications, but on March 6, they became one man's hero.

Navy Region Southeast hosts Navy Community Service Program Conference
Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) and Commander, Navy Region Southeast (CNRSE) hosted the first Navy Community Service Program Conference at NAS Jacksonville March 11-12. Program service coordinators from throughout the region attended the two-day conference which included a community service project.

VS-31's era comes to an end next week
After more than 60 years of dedicated service, the "Topcats" of VS-31will disestablish March 27. VS-31 was originally designated Scouting Squadron 31 and based at NAS Squantum, Mass. The squadron flew the Douglass SBD-5 Dauntless and the Curtiss SB2C-4E Helldiver from 1942 until the end of World War II in 1945 when they were disestablished.
