VP-62 flies Haiti recon missions

As dawn broke Jan. 27 on the Hangar 511 flight line, 14 crewmembers and one Associated Press photographer climbed aboard a P-3C Orion assigned to reserve squadron VP-62 for an 11-hour aerial survey and reconnaissance mission in support of Operation Unified Response in Haiti. [ More ]

Medical volunteers depart NAS Jax for hospital ship
A group of 28 doctors and nurses from Project HOPE departed NAS Jacksonville Jan. 27 to spend three weeks volunteering on board USNS Comfort alongside Nay medical personnel to help injured Haiti earthquake victims.

Early in the morning of Jan. 13, the HS-11 "Dragonslayers" received a call to form a detachment and embark on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) as part of the Navy's initial response to the Haiti disaster relief effort.
