'Operation Unified Response' support flows non-stop

Despite a brief break due to thunderstorms in the area Jan. 21, NAS Jacksonville civilian and military personnel remained flexible as they worked non-stop at the airfield -- palletizing thousands of pounds of materials for shipment to Haiti as part of the Navy's Operation Unified Response. NH Jax 'Rapid Response Team' among first to care for quake victims
Capt. James Flint, a general/trauma surgeon at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, recently provided an overview of the life-saving mission he and a rapid response team from Naval Hospital Jacksonville performed at Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Fuel division doubles volume
Compared to January 2009, the amount of aviation fuel pumped by NAS Jacksonville Air Operations Fuel Division has more than doubled - due to Operation Unified Response.

USNS Comfort embarks additional support staff
More than 300 additional personnel are scheduled to augment the current crew of nearly 800 military and civilians aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) in support of Operation Unified Response: Haiti.

Treatment facility unveils wellness packages
The South Atlantic Dis-trict Veterinary Command (SADVC), NAS Jacksonville Branch offers a wide variety of healthcare to most domestic animals privately owned by military members, retirees and reservists on active duty. To better serve their clients, several changes are being implemented this year.
